Thanks for the code Christian, that's just what I needed to know.  My program
gets docked into a little 24x24 window by the clock.  Much more sensible than
what windowmaker has you do.

Matthias, I'm not sure what you mean by having an applet run in the panel that
is different than this?  I don't normally use KDE myself and I only have KDE
1.1 installed, so maybe it's something I haven't seen.
