What has happened in kdesupport:

checking whether the C++ compiler (g++ -D_GNU_SOURCE -g -fno-exceptions
-fno-rtti -fno-check-new -Wall -pedantic -W -Wpointer-arith 
-Wmissing-prototypes -Wwrite-strings -Wno-long-long) has correct exception 
handling... no configure: error: g++ does provide correct exception
handling

This I get from running configure on a fresh checkout (happened yesterday
also). Besides, odbc has not been compilable for some time now. (Can't
produce the error msg for obvious reasons).

I'm using egcs 1.1.2 on a somewhat standard and not particularly updated
Redhat 6.0 box.
