hi,

i want to make a shared lib. i found some info on the developer hp howto
make a makefile.am for those
shared libs. but if i compile the whole stuff now, i only get a lib with
*.la .... i played around with configure.in
and now i checks if shared libs are possible, but there's still no *.so
file.

What's the difference between la and so and how to use/config
configure/automake to make a shared lib?
