I have a hard time understanding how you can thing throwing hundreds of packages in one subdirectory is a good thing. The first thing you learn in sysadmin is to use subdirectories to group applications. Hell, Dos and Windows was better. Other Unix admins probably chuckle at this. No other Unix does this. I found out the reason for doing this a little while ago on another mailing list. Easier to maintain PATH. That's it. Period. So to accomplish this they throw every single package they can into one directory, without the use of subdirectories > > Greetings, Stephan > > -- > Programmers, heed this: If someone starts asking you about > agricultural genomes, it's likely time to get a handler. > zdnet.com about Torvalds -- Daniel M.
