I was thinking that KDE applications don't take advantage of the Templates
directory on the Desktop. It would be nice if, where appropriate, applications
could install a template for their document type

For example, I just added an empty file called "Text file.txt" to my Templates
directory. Now I can right-click on the desktop and create a new text file. A
left-click on the icon opens my text editor (emacs). Of course you could put
a file with any extension for which you had an app capable of creating files
of that type: .xpm, .(koffice document extension -- don't know what it is),
.html, .tar.gz, etc.

It doesn't add anything powerful, just a different point of view (more
"document-centric" maybe).

Dave
