greetings.

there is going to be a release of a 1.x version of kde soon. kde is
as stable as it is in large measure because before now it was
possible, before a release, to download and build daily snapshots to
see what is working, what needs fixing, what has been fixed, what is
broken.

i realize that 2.0 is very exciting. i'm excited about it, too. but
there is a release coming, and as you know, a system is only as good
as its last release.

surely there is some way to switch the system so that the daily
snapshots are of the 1.X tree, but the 2.0 tree, allowing us to test
the thing thoroughly before it is released. a set of snapshots every
two weeks -- such as the ones that were floating around briefly
yesterday, that are almost a week old -- are scarcely good enough. 

please, guys, consider doing this.
