Why do you expect future versions to add QStrings?
And not ints, doubles, QColors or whatever? This
does not look like a viable solution for retaining
binary compatibility, in contrast to the Qt method:
Put the private variables in a structure that is
allocated in the constructor and deleted in the
destructor.
