The previous implementation used sockets, and those can be accessed
over the network.
Since this gave security problems (as Michael already said) they have
been replaced with a FIFO (/tmp/bla-<pid>, I forgot the bla:)
I must say, I agree with the decision to replace the socket with a FIFO, 
and I agree with the fact that it would be far better to have  sockets. 
However, only if sockets are secure they can be used. So if there's
anyone with knowledge about sockets, there's a project here:)
