I don't want to be picky, but for those used to *.C, shrinking to *.cpp and *.cc
is like shrinking to only one extension ....

How about
	find ~kde -name "*.cpp" | wc -l
	find ~kde -name "*.cc" | wc -l
	find ~kde -name "*.C" | wc -l

and let the majority surivive?  >;-)
