FWIW, exceptions are still handled with setjmp/longjmp on many platforms
(Linux/Alpha, FreeBSD, and Solaris come to mind).  Even where "true"
exceptions are handled, setjmp/longjmp are still required for use with
shared libs (namely on Solaris IIRC).
