Why shouldn't I? I must! Take as an example the file
kdevelop/tools/processes.pl.in. In order to copy an
icon, it needs the icon path. In a previous version,
this was done via $KDEDIR. As $KDEDIR is not necessarily
set, I tried to change the Makefile in such a way that
the script is modified in a Makefile target - namely
by using the makefile variable kde_icondir. Now when
building a package, this doesn't work anymore.

E. g. for the kde.pot file.

Bernd.
