Looks pretty much strange to me....

Are you using "-r HEAD" as I saw in another post here (from someone else) ?
It seems wrong to me. The correct option to make sure you are using
the latest stuff, i.e. head branch, is "-A".

What does
cvs update -dPA
says ?
