Just a note for those who might like to look at this; the filter base
class is defined in filter.* and the few filters that are built with it
(Bright/Grey/Smooth/Gamma/"Shell Command") are defined in colour.* A
prototype filter object for a class must be added (kview.cpp) to the
filter list (filtlist.*) for it to appear in the Filter menu.
