From kde-devel Thu May 13 16:46:08 1999 From: Torsten Rahn Date: Thu, 13 May 1999 16:46:08 +0000 To: kde-devel Subject: Icons in KDE 2.0 X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-devel&m=92662816331924 I've been thinking now for a long time about color-depth and icons. Result: For KDE 1.1.2 we'll add optional 48x48 HiColor-icons ... BUT I think we should consider to drop the 32x32-pixel- 40-color-icons for KDE 2.0 and have all icons dithered if necessary instead ... If we wouldn't do it we would have to maintain too many iconsets: -- 16x16 40-color -- 32x32 40-color - (perhaps 32x32 HiColor) -- 48x48 HiColor (yes we are making progress and if I have made comparisons to GNOME -- well *our* icon-set is of uncomparable beauty right now!) -- toolbar-icons: 40 colors and (?) HiColor (how should we implement this. So I propose to have these iconsets for KDE 2.0: HiColor: 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 (Desktop-icons) 22x22 (Toolbar-icons) 40 Color: Noone We would like to use PNG ... would this be a problem? Any opinions?
