I agreed with you and all others until I remembered some minutes ago that in
this Windoze there are
   TWO _DIFFERENT_ HOURGLASS CURSORS!!

One is the original one and CRAP AS DISCUSSED, on is just the normal cursor
with an small (animated) hourglass beneath it. This is NICE IMO and could be an
options at least to display while in the corresponding program window. (Maybe
have a rotating wheel beneath it?)

AND ANOTHER ONE ABOUT WINDOZE:
(especially for Timothy) It is NOT the aim of KDE to copy Windoze. It is also
NOT the aim to avoid looking like it. But it is OUR AIM to think about which
parts of it (and other GUIs and systems) are good and which are not.
 WE ONLY TAKE THE BEST

If you are interested in some really good examples in which ways Windoze's GUI
is absolutely annoying, misleading and or uncomfortable to the user, have a
look at http://www.iarchitect.com/mshame.htm (Yes, it's the missing "l" one ;-))
