  Maybe some of you are interested what was the problem: it seems that it
was a certain version of kdelibs which installed into /usr/lib but
otherwise configured to /.

  Now configure gets the bindir not from the $prefix but from the output 
of an application using kapp, so even a fresh kdebase was configuring to
the wrong place. 

  Well, well, life is hard.

  Ok: I have another question - does a 1.42 and a 2.0 Qt live peacefully
with each other? Is it possible to have some kapps running one while the
others the other version? Should a casual developer start experimenting
with it?
