I want to add a new subdirectory to the CVS, in particular 
	kdelibs/doc/kspell 
How do I do this?  I've tried 
	cvs add kdelibs/doc/kspell 
but that doesn't work.  It says 

	cvs add: in directory .: 
	cvs [add aborted]: there is no version here; do 'cvs checkout' first 

But, of course, there is no version to checkout yet.  What do I do?
