I'm the author of "khostchooser". -- First of all thank you for finding
khostchooser "quite important for several people"... ;-) 

Does the phrase "do not work correctly" in your statement above mean that:

1) the package doese not compile
or
2) the resulting binary does not work

As for 1):  
I'm aware of build problems that were present on some systems with version
0.2. -- Yesterday I've uploaded version 0.2.2 of khostchooser to
ftp.kde.org. That version should fix the compile problems.

As for 2):
khostchooser is based on "chooser" code by the eX-Consortium. Basically, I
just ripped off the original Xaw based interface and put a Qt/KDE
interface on top of it. -- Altough I haven't got any problem reports so
far, I wouldn't be surprised if that "Frankenstein approach" fails on some
platforms.

Anyhow, could you please give the new khostchooser-0.2.2.tgz a try and
report any success or failure back to me?
