Does the connect example show you a dot for the dragged mouse points?
It uses QPainter::drawPoint() for the mouse points. If it does show them
to you (it does for me), I would surmise that there is no bug with Qt.
The only difference I see is that the connect example uses a QPoint.

If the dots don't appear with connect, what resolution are you running at?
