Something I&#39;ve seen doing a plasma 5 kubuntu user today is:<br>
- getting the blank screen.<br>
- opening a konsole<br>
- killall plasmashell<br>
- plasmashell<br>

It worked for him, still it seems to be a downstream problem.<br>
