kdesu != kdesudo - completely different application.

either you try to run kdesu as root (or any other user that is not the current \
session user), or it's an issue with ~/.Xauthority (copy the one from your user dir \
to /root, this will "break" with the next login) or sth. entirely different.

Did you get a message about "Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1"?

This issue is btw. best dealt @ forum.kde.org, not a dev mailing list, so if it's \
"Sth. entirely different", I suggest to head over there.
