Hi,
I am using usual custom build environment for developing a KDE app.
Maybe that's me but wouldn't it be good addition to have something
like

    export KDESYCOCA=$KDEVARTMP/ksycoca

in [1]?
(Just like noted at this dated page
http://techbase.kde.org/User:Dhaumann/Compiling_KDE4 )

Without this I have to run kbuildsycoca manually to see my servicetype
that's only installed locally (in the custom build environment).
Also, kded --check clears the servicetype information so it's missing again.
