KDE still hasn't be= accepted in Google Summer of Code this year. However here are some useful = information:

GSoC=A02013 has only just been announced and we a= re currently creating
the list=A0o= f=A0idea= s for=A0GSoC=A0which will be available as soon as=A0KDE=A0is
accepted as a p= articipating project.

In the mean time I st= rongly suggest you read the=A0KDE=A0guide [1] first
and get familia= r with=A0KDE=A0and its various projects as much as
possible. To be= able to select a particular project you need to be
quite familiar with it, so make sure you learn as= much as possible in
the mean time, = mostly by using=A0KDE=A0and reading the documentation=A0of
the various pro= jects.

Getting not only familiar with the p= roject but also get some first
coding experien= ce and getting acquainted with the=A0KDE=A0developers is a
strongly recomm= ended, so please have a look at the Junior Jobs in
Bugzilla [2]

You should also subscribe to the= =A0KDE=A0SoC mailing list [3] where all
announcements r= egarding=A0GSoC=A0will be made.

However, I= think it's better if you discuss your idea with the Kig team (which is= part of KDE Edu), maybe creating a draft of a project proposal,

and, if well suited, post it on= the KDE GSoC 2013 idea page on the kde wiki. [11]

I've got an idea for the 2013 GSoC: add projectiv= e geometry to kig.
This would need adding the relevant data structures, = generalizing the algorithms
and designing UI metaphors for the points &q= uot;at infinity".
