Hi Shamsher,

Well, your mail looks strikingly similar to the one which we got
yesterday by an aspiring developer, Sandarbh. Anyways, here are the
replies he got from various developers.

Reply 1 :

Awesome. First of all there is no sir here. We all call everyone on a
first name basis. And secondly, its good to know that you want to
contribute.

Do you use KDE? If yes, which product would you like to work on? If
not, start using KDE, and play around KDE apps, see their source code,
and see what appeals you the most. Then accordingly, you can contact
the respective project manager.

Also, start learning Qt. Almost whole KDE is based on Qt framework
only, and it will be a pre-requisite to understand the code. Atleast
basic Qt is required, which you can pick up in a week or so. Other
stuff, you can learn along.

In the open source world, we primarily communicate via mailing lists
and IRC Chat [1]. How about you come talk to us more over there. There
is a separate channel for Indians called #kde-in on freenode. You'll
find a lot of other Indians over there, and it might be easier than
these emails, which can be slightly intimidating.

If you're unaware about IRC - Install the program called Konversation
or Quassel, set the server to freenode (chat.freenode.net), and
connect to #kde-in. The people over there will try to get you started.

In addition to above replies :
I noticed that you have sent the same mail with two email ids within
12 hours. Kindly wait for atleast a day before reminding us to reply
you back.
