That would be nice. But as 4.8.5 release should be today we are probably a 
little late for that ;). Well, I'll just have to ifdef my workaround for 4.8 
if needed.

I'm currently still working on the copyFromFile parts, will go back to the 
generic get/put stuff once that's done.
