Also to me happen to get too much logs. Specially when I've got KMail opened
(about 7 IMAP accounts) all the time. In a day I can get 24-30 MBytes of
logs.

0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">Hi

I have noticed that my KDE(4.4.1+) install writes lots of stuff in the
.xsession-errors file, and wondered if that was normal or if I have something
wrong in my installation?

It looks odd to me, as most of it is kind of pointless, and it makes it harder
to find needed info in the file.

Simply logging into a session gives a me a .xsession-errors file approximately
800k or over 7000 lines. It's not a complex setup either, folder-view desktop
and one plasmoid. In addition to a few apps started in the systray.
And the file continue to grow at a noticeable pace after the log in has calmed
down, it seems a rather excessive.

After log in, I did a quick grep -c to see who the most chatty processes was:
plasma          4234
kbuildsycoca    929
kopete          643
kontackt                237
kwin                    192
kmix                    164
kglobalaccel    145
kdeinit         112

Some of it may make sense but I also see over 1000 lines like this:
plasma-desktop(4717)/plasma SystemTray::TaskArea::addWidgetForTask: widget
already exists, trying to reposition it
plasma-desktop(4717)/plasma SystemTray::TaskArea::addWidgetForTask: is a
hidden type
plasma-desktop(4717)/plasma SystemTray::TaskArea::addWidgetForTask: just
hiding the widget

IMHO I don't think it should be this way, but is it a good reason for this
behavior or should bugreports be made?

Best regards
Knut
