This is a filter bar, not a search bar. There seems to be much less
consistency on where filter bars get displayed, but Dolphin is
probably the closest parallel and it displays it at the bottom. Also
the shortcut for filtering is Ctrl + I in Dolphin. Obviously a label
that indicates the purpose of the widget might be a worthwhile
addition. I think it would make sense to consult with the usability
folks on this widget in general.

Alessandro, I would recommend posting your patch to
reviewboard.kde.org so that people can review and comment on the code
and not just a screenshot. Be sure to notify Harald Hvaal of the
review request as he is the current Ark maintainer.
