I think you should commit the fixes for the crashes, both in trunk and 
in the 4.2 branch.
You say that the problem you see with the retro theme is 
performance-related, and removing it will not remove it from the 
machines where it is already installed, so don't bother doing it for 
now. We have to address this later, or maybe it will be addressed by the 
final Qt 4.5 release. After you commit the initial fix I will try to 
help with the lives/score issue as well, as Carnival is over :)
