Hi, thanks for the hint, I will try it. There is a reason for the
prefix though - I'm not installing it per se. I am working on a new
kde4/slackware based distro with a ports tree called kongoni
(kongoni.co.za) - and I am trying to make the ports work for KDE. I am
going for beta because this is a pre-release, and that way going to
stable when it's out will be much easier.
Basically, these ports will be preinstalled in the release but also
used by users for update/upgrades later on.

As a matter of note - there is no old install, I am working on a clean
base that only contains that which I already built for it. The cmake
package is the official one from slackware 12.2 - perhaps I should
create a cmake port and rebuild it from source ?
