All I know is that it doesn't happen with KDE 4.1.0 + Qt 4.4.3 (coming from 
debian's repository). The other person who reported the problem use 
KDElibs/trunk + Qt/trunk.

Well looking at the svn logs/diffs, I don't see much changes in Qt in the 
QEventLoop/QEventDispatcher(s)/QCoreApplication . So I am tempted to say that 
it is not caused by a change in Qt.
