Hopefully somebody can help me debug this here.

I'm running KDE 4.1.1 on PC-BSD 7, which seems to run pretty well, 
except for some slowdowns and responsiveness from the interface. In 
particular, when a user clicks to launch a program from 
FolderView/plasma, there seems to be anywhere from a 1-3 second delay 
before the program is even called. I've been trying to do some debugging 
on this here, and so far I've come up with this by watching the error logs:

(Double-click anything on desktop)

(This output appears immediately)

After the KNotification has received that a clicking has taken place, 
what else is running between that time, and the time that plasma 
actually starts the KIO:stat of the clicked desktop icon?

NOTE: This does NOT occur when loading a .desktop program from kickoff, 
if we launch something that way, it starts immediately (milliseconds). 
If we open something similar there, we get this output:

 From kickoff though, it appears it is skipping the kio_desktop loading? 
Is that causing the slowdown? Is there a way to cahnge it?
