Well i did this kind of app too (doka.sf.net)
and that was for my university :P
Well Kget guys asked me to help them
but as i was almost finishing it so i couldn't.
I was going to help them this year but i found
another project that was needing more
love than kget, so i think helping kget might
be a good thing, but you could
also find another project that needs more
work than kget(imho kget is now in good shape).

I think that's the point. The whole idea is to write it from scratch, for school.

Well, isn't kget with multi segment, bittorent and a whole lot more features
already modern ? Maybe you could work on kget, improve it, add missing
features, etc. I'm sure the kget developers have plenty ideas about it ?

I can understand the fun of starting a new project though :)
