Thanks for the info Dan. Yes, sesame was not being built as it could not
find the JNI. I'll give Nepomic a ago with sesame installed now.

During the indexing Nepomuk takes quite a lot of CPU.

To optimize it:

- Make sure that you are using the sesame2 backend for Soprano. The redland
backend is really slow and so slows down the indexing a lot.

( when you run sopranocmd it should output something about found plugin
sesame2 when you are using sesame2)

- In the Nepomuk settings in KDE you can say Strigi what folders to index and
what not. With less folders it is faster ( ;-) ok thats obvious)

- For now you can disable strigi in the Nepomuk setting at all. There is no
enduser ready way to query the data yet anyway. You can still use the \
other
Nepomuk features in Dolphin and other applications ( not much released \
with
Nepomuk features at the moment) with disabled strigi but enabeled \
Nepomuk.

- With kde 4.2 you should hopefully be able to only let it index when you are
on AC power.

- You should also keep in mind: That only the first index takes some time (with
a lot of files it could be a few hours) later scans to update the data should
be a lot faster.
