Hi,
Whenever I compile multimedia stuff, I get a warning about libxine version.
- The following OPTIONAL packages could NOT be located on your
system.
-- Consider installing them to enable more features from this
software.
+ Xine: xine-lib v1.1.11.1 was found on your system. This version does not
provide video support and has known security issues. Recommend upgrading to
version 1.1.12 or above. <
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=9655&package_id=9732>
I am using ubuntu-hardy and the recommended version is in 8.10 repos. I dont
want to compile it from source because it will probably break a lot of
dependencies. I want to ask if the version that I use has any fatal
effects on system?
