I actually looked into this myself once and removed several syncs
at places where it was completely nonsense and I agree that KDE oversyncs
heavily. And it should be pretty easy to give the user a config at hand
to make the core of KDE work on untrusty operating systems and/or hardware,
but the default should actually to trust the file system.
