I don't know if  I understood that correct but if that's the case it's
really bad.

For example (in some time): a company uses KDE 3.5.9 and wants to switch to
KDE 4.1 but they'll use their whole emails, settings, etc because they
simply can't import them anymore in KDE 4.

Seems really bad tome and I hope with 4.1 (i know that 4.0 is only inteded
for hardcore users) there'll be the possibility to at least import data
files from pervious KDE 3 versions.
