As easy as it is in Konqueror. However, it should be easier in
Konqueror. File Associations is not part of Konqueror. Therefore, the
link to the KCM for File Associations should be in the menu: "Settings
-> Configure File Associations"

This option should be in EVERY application that uses file associations
to open applications and/or parts. It is missing in KMail.

Lets face it, users don't read the documentation. :-) Seriously,
something like this should be simple enough to find without reading the
documentation.

That is, I presume a request for a *demonstration* patch. Doesn't make
much sense to me since my motto is: "Design twice and code once". But
seriously, before writing code, it is necessary to decide what it
*should* do and even though you don't like it, that (the design) is
really the most important part of the process.

My suggestion is simple that it should be the way it used to be with a
tab for: "File Associations" in the "Properties Dialog" -- replacing
options with magic buttons is GNOME-Think. Note that with the current
obscure icon (magic button), this is even less obvious because the tool
tip is: "Edit File Types" rather than "File Associations".
