I'll translate the comment from Klaus Knopper for the English speaking 
audience on this list:

ABER! Zufällig habe ich auf den LinuxWochen in Wien die Entwickler der
Spracheingabe "Simon" getroffen, und was mir dort vorgeführt wurde,
scheint schon sehr gut brauchbar zu sein. Ein Programm zum Trainieren
mit der eigenen Stimme (leider ausschließlich graphisch, für ADRIANE
daher noch nicht brauchbar) ist auch mit dabei.

Now, now! At the LinuxWochen in Wien I bumped into the developers of "Simon", 
the speech recognition software, and their work as they presented it seemed 
to be in quite a usable state already. A program for training with ones own 
voice (unfortunately just with a GUI, and therefore currently unusable for 
ADRIANE) is included.

I'd be interested in comments from the authors concerning the language model 
and grammar files used for the project and their licenses.
