Last time I mentioned him, some didn't know who he was. I suggest that
we read his column:

http://ptech.allthingsd.com/20070913/linuxs-free-system-is-now-easier-to-use-but-not-for-everyone/

Reading between the lines, it appears that he liked Ubuntu better than
Vista. It would be nice if he could also try Kubutu on a desktop.

He states that: "Linux is still too rough around the edges" probably not
a sufficiently accurate statement for an engineer used to making fine
distinctions. I doubt that he meant the same thing as when I say that
KDE is too rough around the edges.

Like many in the outside world, he isn't clear on what Linux is (he
still confuses software and hardware) although he gets it right part of
the time and refers to Ubuntu rather than Linux. I'm not sure that he
understands the difference, but I have never heard him mention Darwin
when discussing OS/X. :-)

IAC, I see nothing about rough edges, only some specific issues which
you don't need to be a 'Techie' to understand better.

We will always have "Ignorance is bliss" vs. "Knowledge is power".

I first brought his column up when I suggested that "Linux" (i.e.
Linux/GNU/X11/[KDE|GNOME] will be ready for prime time when he thinks it
is. I am very pleased that he is starting to think that it is ready for
power users.
