I can confirm that KMail acts strangely with recent (from yesterday) 
version from the 3.5 branch... I got different problems, starting from 
random crashes, saying that X messages were downloaded while none was 
really downloaded (and you could repeat the check mail and would say 
the same number of messages were downloaded), errors like "Could not 
login to XXX. The server terminated the connection immediately." and 
"
Could not login to XXX. The password may be wrong.
The server said: "[IN-USE] Unable to lock maildrop: Mailbox is locked by 
POP server" 
"


Quite bad, and worst is that it works for some time and it gets broken 
after. A restart of kmail may or may not help. I cannot even make a 
good bug report in this case. :(
