Hi list,
One of the KDE user in Taiwan reported a bug about klocale class.
When a call to KLocale::language() for zh_TW.UTF-8, KLocale::splitLocale()
breaks the locale settings into:
language = zh
country = TW
charset = UTF-8
Then, kio_http sets the language in the http header as:
Accept-language: zh, en
However, given this value "zh", nobody can be able to understand if the user
requested for zh-TW (Chinese Traditional) or zh-CN (Chinese Simplified), or
even zh-SG, zh-HK, ...
Firefox is doing the right way for this issue. It will send
Accept-language: zh-tw, en
which can easily tell the server that the user is requesting Traditional
Chinese, not Simplified Chinese.
Right now all the KDE users in Taiwan face the same problem: when visiting
many websites that provide both zh_TW and zh_CN locales, they all get the
wrong version of website (Chinese Simp.).
This problem has been reported in bugs.kde.org for about two weeks:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145407
Could anyone please have a look at this issue, and hopefully fixed in KDE4?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Franklin
