KDE's Web Shortcut system auto-substitutes it for whatever you put after the 
shortcut name. E.g. gg:blah becomes google.com/search?q=blah, because 
the "Search URI" (which you can see and set in Configure Konqueror->Web 
Shortcuts) is google.com/search?q=\{@}
That is what Allen meant by "Use the following web shortcuts" :)
