Hey,
  That sounds really good.  You can do this in kde3 or kde4 - the code
for sensor is almost exactly the same (in fact you can, and always
will be able to, use the kde3 ksysguardd in kde4).  It will be trivial
to forward port your changes to kde4 later.

  Basically you'll want to add code to ksysguardd/Linux

  Nobody else is working on this.
