Hello, I'm currently trying to give an answer to this feature request : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129020 The idea is to provide a desktop wide "presence state" handling. If there is a central place to know if the user is present or not, occupied or not, it should be possible to do a lot of interesting things. I started thinking about a solution. You can see where I am here : http://presenced.free.fr (it's still a work in progress though. For now, the interesting page are mainly Vision and Specification) My question is, will this functionality overlap with some current KDE project ? If so, I would be pleased to know, in order not to do the same thing in two places. I've been told about Houston/Decibel, but it seems to me that it's more about other people, not about the current user of the computer. I've also read somewhere that an idea of Phonon was to allow to lower the volume of your music when an entering VoIP call comes in. That's a typical use case I would like to address. So, if I get somewhere, it would be interesting to see if the two things can be integrated. I would also be happy if someone else is interested by this project and wants to help, give advice, etc ...
