Just to expand on that a bit, libungif is a GIF library, despite the 
name.  Either libgif or libungif would have satisfied cmake's GIF 
reqirement.  IIUC, libungif is a gif library that avoids LZW patent 
issues by not compressing the GIFs when saving them.
