Did you get a 20-second timeout when running the program? Or was it 
immediate?

My guess is it was the latter case. It's the symptom of trying to connect 
to the D-Bus session bus with a different user. You probably have a 
different user for your kde4 tests, right? Make sure dbus-launch is run 
with that user.
