Ahh, good thought!  (I should have thought of that.)

If anyone knows of a particular live CD with konqueror / kde 3.5.4, let me 
know.

(Next Monday, iirc, our local Linux sig meets, and I'll see if I can find such 
a live CD there--oops, wait, guess it's the following Monday.)
