I have a KDE application from KDevelop template and it uses standard
automake/autoconf which comes with template.
I need to extend it to install some Python files into their standard
location (/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages). I can hardcode the path,
but I would prefer to use more flexible approach and install it into
directory with latest installed Python version. I would also like to
precompile .py into .pyc.

As automake/autoconf is a black magic box for me, I would appreciate any
help how to extend it with such features.
