It looks like KURL change the space to a %20:
ssh://kvh@e3000?cmd='echo%20$HOSTNAME'

This doesn't work anyway... 
ssh -l kvh e3000

Using this ?cmd= also is not apparent to users... it will not occur to most to 
use this format...
