 Thanks for your inputs. By rebuilding kdebase and rebooting fixed everything, it \
works fine now. I agree also that making a symlink libdbus-1.so.1 pointing at \
libdbus-1.so.2 was not the way to go.

Don't do that.

There's a reason why the name changed and that's because they are 
incompatible. If you do what you suggested, your application will very 
likely crash soon.
